This note describes a study of the maximum tower energies expected in the CMS HB & HE detectors from the QCD production of 2 jets at the LHC. This study shows that the maximum tower for the expected lifetime of CMS at the LHC should never exceed 3.5 TeV in any compartment of the barrel or endcap hadron calorimeter. ) email address [email protected]
